When I was asked to create a digital 3-D model of the Macy Gallery at Teachers College, Columbia University, I was excited to accept this project. After receiving the blueprints my father and I measured a couple of walls to see if the blueprints were correct. Unfortunately, the blueprints were not correct except for one wall.

During the 2016 winter break my father and I measured the entire Gallery. Then I proceeded to model the gallery in Rhinoceros 3-D. After the model was completed, it was my intention to further the user experience by making every exhibition in the Macy Gallery digitally accessible to everyone around the world. Where anyone can virtually view what is or was on display at the gallery without being physically present in the Gallery. To make this happen, I learned to use the game engine Unity to create an interactive environment.

I exhibited this interactive creation with some of my own work and some of my friends’ work in the digital gallery at Teachers Colleges for the exhibit, On Collaboration 2018. This exhibit showed the potential of a digital gallery to host virtual exhibitions. Currently, I am still working out the bugs for the web version and when the web version is completed, it should be accessible on the Teachers College website and also on my website.

I want to thank my friends who lent me their creations for my interactive installation at the On Collaboration 2018 exhibit at Teachers College.
