For seven weeks of my Junior Field Work Term, I worked as an apprentice to Graham Moss, a master bookbinder, publisher, and printer. My apprenticeship under Graham Moss’s guidance culminated in my creating a chapbook. This project helped to deepen my understanding of the basic skills of hand printing and bookbinding. The result A Garland of Love Songs by Robert Burns met Graham’s approval and far exceeded my expectations. It clearly demonstrates the dedication of a superb teacher who permitted me to learn and to publish my first book. Only two hundred chapbooks were printed.
