The Man

The goal was to design a sculpture depicting an ordinary, everyday activity.  The form could only consist of a certain amount of pieces equal to my age—at the time I was nineteen.  Since I read everyday, I chose to show a snapshot of me reading a book on a couch.  I asked a friend to take a photo of me reading.  That photo became the source of a series of sketches.  I wanted the form to be an impression of those rough sketches—just accentuating the basic shape.
